The brief

Diego and Daniela González, twin founders and main designers at Cakao Studio, embarked on a personal project to explore the properties of triplay wood.

Their objective was to experiment with various techniques such as hand-cutting, bending, and painting, while maintaining a focus on using recycled triplay wood. Inspired by the movie Avatar, they aimed to create an innovative and sustainable design for a children's scooter named Toruk.

The Solution

The Toruk wood scooter is a result of the collaborative and experimental efforts of Diego and Daniela González. Drawing inspiration from the organic shapes and natural materials seen in Avatar, the design features intricate holes and fluid lines that mimic the aesthetics of the movie.

The creative process involved extensive experimentation with triplay wood, pushing its limits through various techniques.

The final product is a beautifully crafted scooter that not only serves as a functional toy for children but also showcases the versatility and sustainability of recycled triplay wood.
